Your journey into amateur radio begins right here in Livermore.

What is Amateur Radio?

Amateur Radio (often called "ham radio") is a popular hobby and service that brings people, electronics, and communication together. People use ham radio to talk across town, around the world, or even into space, all without the internet or cell phones. It's fun, social, educational, and can be a lifeline during times of need.

Step 1: Learn

There is no longer a Morse Code requirement! To get your entry-level "Technician" license, you just need to pass a straightforward 35-question multiple-choice exam focusing on basic regulations and electronics.
